Trailer clipped by train in Uintah
UINTAH — No one was injured Tuesday when a train clipped the back of a trailer being pulled by a pickup truck.
Weber County Sheriff’s Deputy Eric Wadman said a man was driving the truck south on 2275 East near 6600 South around 6:20 p.m. and didn’t see or hear the westbound train. When the man noticed the train as he was crossing the tracks, he accelerated, but the train hit the back of the hydraulic dump trailer the truck was towing.
There were no injuries, but the trailer was destroyed, Wadman said. The truck and train both had minor damage.
The Uintah and Weber fire districts also responded, Wadman said, and helped clean up a small amount of hydraulic fluid that had leaked from the trailer.
