OGDEN — Dollar General’s newest location in Ogden is now open.

Dollar General, located at 3161 Washington Blvd., will celebrate its grand opening at 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, with free prizes and special deals, a news release from the company says. Also, the first 50 adult shoppers at the store will receive a $10 Dollar General gift card, and the first 200 shoppers will receive a Dollar General tote bag with complimentary product samples, among other giveaways.

Though the grand opening is taking place Saturday, the store was open as of Tuesday.

The national store sells a variety of items, including food, housewares, seasonal items, cleaning supplies, apparel, and health and beauty products, the release says.

Typically, the stores employ between six and 10 people, according to the news release. Anyone interested in applying for jobs at the store or with the company can find them on the career section at www.dollargeneral.com.

The location Dollar General is moving into was previously a Family Dollar store, according to previous Standard-Examiner reporting. The Washington Boulevard store is one of more than 300 Family Dollar/Dollar Express stores Dollar General purchased in April, according to the Charlotte Observer.
