OGDEN — The Ogden Weber Community Action Partnership, or OWCAP, will be sponsoring a series of workshops geared to renters and case managers who work with the public on housing issues to help them better understand the issues surrounding housing.

The first workshops are set for Wednesday at 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. They will be held at OWCAP offices at 3159 Grant Ave. The focus at Wednesday’s meetings will be Utah’s court system for renters and the state’s eviction process. Reps from People Legal Aid of Utah will be presenters.

Other proposed topics at future meetings are renters’ rights, fair housing issues, finding a home, and credit and personal finance. The other workshops are set for Nov. 30 and Dec. 14.

Also, OWCAP has launched a new landlord/tenant mediation service, the first of its kind and available to all Weber County residents. “This free service is something residents have needed in the community for some time,” OWCAP said in a press release.

For more information on the workshops, reach out to Cody Egan of OWCAP at cegan@owcap.org or 801-399-9281, extension 512.

Starting at $4.32/week.
