Photos of Layton temple construction sought for publication

By Staff | Mar 1, 2024

Ryan Comer, Standard-Examiner

The Layton Utah Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, currently under construction, on July 14, 2023.

In conjunction with the planned open house for the new Layton Utah Temple, the Standard-Examiner will be producing a magazine commemorating the occasion. The magazine will include articles about local history, the construction of the temple, temple building in Utah and more.

The Standard-Examiner is currently seeking photographs from readers of the temple construction process. If you would like to submit a photo for possible inclusion in the magazine that shows any part of the Layton temple construction process, from breaking ground to the final touches, please email it to Christi Babbitt at christibabbitt@msn.com by March 20.

Please include your name so credit can be included with the photo. General photos of the temple are being accepted as well.

Announced by President Russel M. Nelson during The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ April 2018 general conference will open to the public from April 19 through June 1, followed by its dedication June 16. It is among 28 planned or operational temples in Utah, including two others in Davis County — joining Bountiful and the under-construction Syracuse temple.
