Letter: Feeling sorry for all those doggies at the farmer’s market

As I go to visit and enjoy the Saturday Farmer’s market, I continue to see more and more people with dogs at that event. And many of them that I see have no say in having to walk on the hot surface of the street or sidewalk. Not to mention that when nature calls, they either have to wait or go right there in front of the people and the food stands as I saw this last Saturday. And of course, the owners just continue to walk away and leave it there for others to step on and spread it around. What is the reason to take a dog to the Farmer’s market is beyond me, especially when it’s hot and the surface of the street and sidewalk is burning their paws as I mentioned above. I wonder how the owners of those dogs would feel and like to walk around with a lease pulling them while bare footed and their feet burning? I’m just surprised that there hasn’t been a dog fight or someone bitten yet, but the market just opened a few weeks ago, and no telling what will be coming down the road in Saturdays to come. Please don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate dogs, I just think that the Farmer’s market is not the place to bring dogs too.
