Letter: Dangerous rhetoric by Trump and his supporters

Mar 18, 2024

At a recent rally former and now 4 times indicted President Donald J. Trump made the statement referring to certain immigrants seeking asylum in order to have a better life for themselves and their families animals. Yet on the other hand he referred to those individuals serving time in prison for having stormed our nation’s capital with the intent to bring harm to then Vice-President Mike Pence and the speaker of the house Nancy Pelosi, “political prisoners;” and then went on to say that he would pardon them if elected president again. Think about that for a moment or two America, those same individuals who wanted to hang the V.P. And lord only knows what they would have done to the speaker, and destroyed millions of dollars’ worth of property at the capitol, not to mention that some even defecated in the halls and offices. Thats of course if you all can think past your racist and prejudice ways of thinking because as the saying goes, “prejudice is an emotional commitment to ignorance.” As the late Dr. M. L. King once said, “nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.”
