OGDEN — An Ogden man on Sunday allegedly threatened to shoot customers ahead of him in the McDonald’s drive-thru because they were ordering too slowly, police said in charging documents.

Ogden police said they pulled over Bryan Nava, 20, after two men said he pulled a Glock handgun from his waistband and, while driving away, made a shooting motion at them with his hand.

The arrest affidavit said Nava became impatient during the 1:30 a.m. incident in the 1100 block of Washington Boulevard and honked at the vehicle in front of him “because they weren’t ordering fast enough.” Nava shouted obscenities and two men got out of their vehicle, shouting back at Nava, who got out of his car, the affidavit said.

The men told police Nava said to them, “Get back in your car or something will happen.”

Nava told police he honked at the men but he said they started yelling at him. They all got out of the vehicles and one of the men disparaged him “because he needed a gun.” Nava denied drawing the gun.

Police booked Nava into the Weber County Jail without bail, and on Monday the Weber County Attorney’s Office charged him with two counts of third-degree felony aggravated assault.

According to 2nd District Court records, Nava completed probation in October on his conviction on six misdemeanor charges for his role in burning residents’ American flags in an Ogden neighborhood on July 1, 2020.

Starting at $4.32/week.
