FARMINGTON — A Davis County man has been arrested as one of 10 suspects in a deadly attack in which Mongols motorcycle club members allegedly targeted a group of Hells Angels in Arvada, Colorado, two years ago.

Davis County Sheriff’s Office deputies booked Jared Chadwick, 38, into the county jail in Farmington on Jan. 26, according to jail records. He remained in custody without bail on Wednesday, awaiting extradition to Colorado to face charges.

The arrests of Chadwick and nine other men identified as Mongols members were reported Monday by the Arvada Police Department. Suspects were arrested by police in Utah, Colorado, California and Florida in an operation that involved the FBI, the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and other police agencies.

In the July 11, 2020, case, Arvada officers responded to a chaotic scene outside a restaurant and found one man shot dead, two with multiple gunshot wounds each and a fourth man who had suffered a traumatic brain injury.

According to a statement by Arvada police, investigators determined the altercation between the motorcycle clubs ended in the death of a Hells Angel, William Henderson. Police alleged that Mongols members also assaulted and attempted to kill two other Hells Angels, who were seriously injured.

Police further alleged that a man who tried to help the wounded men was severely beaten with a motorcycle helmet and was run over by a motorcycle, resulting in crippling injuries.

Arvada police said Chadwick was charged with accessory to first-degree murder, aggravated robbery, racketeering, conspiracy and mandatory sentences for violent crime.

Seven of those arrested were charged with first-degree murder.

Chadwick’s court record shows no felony convictions. He was convicted of class A misdemeanors three times: theft by receiving stolen property, Ogden, 2004; assault, Layton, 2005; and communications fraud, Farmington, 2007.

Chadwick’s Facebook page says he went to Layton High School.

Stephanie Dinsmore, Davis sheriff’s spokesperson, said Tuesday she had no information about the circumstances of Chadwick’s arrest. She referred questions to Arvada police, who said the arrests spanning four states were timed and coordinated.

Mongols chapters previously have been identified in South Ogden and West Valley City.

In December 2020, two Mongols members and two other men were arrested by Ogden police after a man was beaten and shot at in a downtown parking lot.
