The tournament plays out on a neutral site with seeds No. 1 and No. 2 earning a preferred first-round bye while playing a lower seed, then getting a day off, while seeds No. 3-6 also get a bye.
Portland State, who lost four of its last five, took care of Weber State on Monday in a regular-season final to claim the title and No. 1 seed outright — the Vikings’ first conference championship since 2008.
A three-way tie for fourth place goes to Montana by virtue of its 2-0 mark against first-place PSU.
