Prep basketball roundup: Davis girls rally past Murray in 4th quarter

KAYSVILLE — Davis High girls basketball trailed 27-22 at the half, then outscored Murray 16-11 in the fourth quarter to secure a 50-47 home win Thursday night.

Kendra Kitchen led Davis (2-0) with 23 points. T’Maea Eteuati scored eight points, Aryanna Bull tallied seven while Maya Chino and Kate Richards each added six points.

JUDGE MEMORIAL 50, OGDEN 38

OGDEN — Ogden fell behind 24-13 at halftime against defending 3A state champion Judge Memorial.

Ashley Christensen scored 24 points for Ogden (2-1) and led all scorers on a night where the Tigers struggled to shoot overall. Twenty of Christensen’s 24 points came in the second half. She shot 4 for 4 at the foul line and made four 3-pointers.

Brynn Smith scored six points on two 3-pointers.

LONE PEAK 80, LAYTON 17

LAYTON — Layton was held to five points in the first half in a lopsided loss to Lone Peak.

Lauryn Hall led Layton (0-2) with eight points and Brenley Boydston scored four. Five Lone Peak players scored in double figures.

HIGHLAND 54, NORTHRIDGE 50

LAYTON — Northridge trailed 42-31 going into the fourth quarter and a comeback bid came up just short in a home loss to Highland.

Kaylee Hess led Northridge (0-3) with 15 points and three 3-pointers. Madison Hosino scored 14 points with four treys.

BOYS BASKETBALL

FREMONT 66, MADISON-ID 59

DRAPER — At the Corner Canyon tournament, Fremont outscored Madison (Idaho) 22-8 in the second quarter, led by 10 at halftime and made the lead hold.

Hunter Hansen led Fremont (2-1) with 19 points and seven made field goals. Boston Hadley scored 13 points with two 3-pointers and David Calvert scored 12 points with two 3s. The Silverwolves made eight 3-pointers as a team.

UNION 63, BEN LOMOND 42

GARLAND — Jake East scored 18 points as Ben Lomond fell to Union in the first game of the Bear River Winter Classic

Jordan Harrison added eight points for Ben Lomond (0-2).
