Prep basketball roundup: Fremont girls blitz Morgan in 1st half
PLAIN CITY — Fremont High girls basketball led 22-1 after one quarter, then outscored Morgan 27-6 in the second quarter on the way to a 72-45 home win Thursday night.
Mia Austin made five 3-pointers en route to a game-high 17 points for Fremont (9-2). Maggie Mendleson added 16 points and Timea Gardner scored 11.
Janel Blazzard led Morgan (6-6) with 12 points and Alex Trussell scored 10.
NORTHRIDGE 69, UTAH MILITARY 7
RIVERDALE — Northridge held Utah Military Academy scoreless in the first half in a big road win.
Kaylee Hess led Northridge (6-5) with 13 points and Madison Hosino scored 10.
Mary Seipert, Malaya Larsen and Noelle Falaschi each had a bucket for UMA (2-1).
WOODS CROSS 43, OGDEN 30
OGDEN — Woods Cross ran out to a 12-2 lead after the first quarter in a win at Ogden.
Mahine Bergeson led Ogden (4-8) with eight points and two 3-pointers. Donna Gonzalez Quintanilla, Isabella Nestel and Grace Pulley each scored four points.
Woods Cross (8-3) did not report stats.
RIVERTON 81, BOX ELDER 50
BRIGHAM CITY — Box Elder was outscored 26-7 in the third quarter by Riverton (9-2) in a home loss Wednesday.
Tegan Mecham led Box Elder (7-5) with 14 points and two 3-pointers. Kamryn Peterson scored 12 points, also with two treys.
