Prep roundup: Bonneville, Weber runners win City-County cross country races

Bonneville High junior Sienna Barton won the City-County cross country race by nearly 37 seconds on Tuesday. Barton ran a time of 18:34.59.

Weber High won the girls team trophy with 27 points and five top-1o finishers: Sarah Dye (second), Rodarte Garcia (fourth), Eden Burton (fifth), Cadence Keyes (sixth) and McCall Dapias (10th).

Additional top-10 finishers were Kaitlyn Blackham (Ogden, third), Indianna Lundell (Fremont, seventh), Nicole Wayment (Bonneville, eighth) and Isabella Gray (ninth).

Weber High senior Andrew Harris won the boys race in 15:34.85, beating teammate Landon Hart by about 5 seconds.

Harris and Hart helped Weber to a first-place finish with 31 points, beating Ogden’s 48 points.

The remaining top-10 finishers were Jack Blodgett (Ogden, third), Carter Parsons (Ogden, fourth), Simon Petersen (Fremont, fifth), Asher Bowen (Fremont, sixth), Franklin Monson (Weber, seventh), Joshua Nicolaides (Morgan, eighth), EJ Lee (Morgan, ninth) and Spencer Havey (Weber, 10th).

GIRLS SOCCER

BEN LOMOND 4, GRANTSVILLE 0

Adilen Gil scored two goals to lead Ben Lomond High girls soccer to a 4-0 win over Grantsville on Wednesday.

Melanie Solis and Ariana Liptrap scored one goal for the Scots (3-9, 3-2 Region 13). Liptrap, Hadley Chadwick and Maleah Richie assisted one goal.

MORGAN 8, SOUTH SUMMIT 0

Kaydence Wardell scored a hat trick and assisted one goal to keep Morgan (10-2, 5-0 Region 13) unbeaten in Region 13.

Brecklee Charlton, Kapree Charlton, Ashlyn Noss and Macie Burton scored one goal each. Brecklee Charlton assisted two goals and Burton assisted one. Miya Turner kept the shutout.

BOYS GOLF

REGION 1

Farmington High’s Luke Kelley shot a 6-under-par 72 to win Tuesday’s Region 1 boys golf match at Schneiter’s Bluff and helped lead the Phoenix to an 11-shot team victory.

Brigham Goldsberry (Farmington) shot 69 to finish in second place. Broc Benson (Fremont), David Liechty (Layton) and Cole Taylor (Farmington) shot 70. Ben Ackley (Farmington), Emett Jones (Fremont) and Cole Summerhays (Weber) carded 71s.

Farmington’s Emerson Cahoon shot 72. Kyson Christensen (Fremont), Zak Richins (Layton), Luke Stanger (Syracuse) and Jack Wadsworth (Fremont) shot 73.

As a team, Farmington shot 276, followed by Fremont (287), Layton (292), Weber (303), Syracuse (304), Davis (309) and Clearfield (317).
