ROY — Layton High girls basketball broke open a close game with a 15-4 second quarter Friday to win 57-40 at Roy.

Oakley Homer knocked down four 3-pointers for a game-high 24 points to lead Layton (4-5). Conley Santizo and Avery Potter each chipped in 10 points.

Nicole Williams led Roy (2-6) with 14 points. Jazzi Prieto added eight points on two 3-pointers.

BOX ELDER 50, HENDERSON-PA 49

ORLANDO, Fla. — Box Elder led 42-36 after three quarters and held off a comeback by Henderson (Pennsylvania) for a tournament win in Orlando.

Ashlyn Wight hit four 3-pointers on her way to a game-high 22 points for Box Elder (4-2). Jocelyn Vranes tallied 10 points and Olivia Godfrey added nine.

N. FREMONT-ID 48, OGDEN 22

SUGAR CITY, Idaho — Ruth Larsen scored seven points as Ogden (3-6) lost to North Fremont (Idaho) at the Sugar-Salem Shootout.

PLEASANT VIEW — Hunter Schenck led all scorers with 24 points and six 3-pointers as Weber beat Clearfield.

Malachi Spencer scored 17 points for Weber (7-1) and Will Stratford added 11.

Chase McNeill paced Clearfield (3-3) with 14 points. Spencer Jones and Tayvian Singletary each tallied 10 points.

LAYTON 87, TAYLORSVILLE 45

LAYTON — Layton outscored Taylorsville 30-10 in the second quarter in a big home win.

KJ Miller led all scorers with 22 points and five 3-pointers for Layton (7-0). Sam Romer hit two treys and scored 15 points. Cade Tidwell hit four 3-pointers for his 12 points and Mekhi Martin added 11 points.

BONNEVILLE 63, KEARNS 46

WASHINGTON TERRACE — Bonneville trailed 30-29 at the half, then outscored Kearns 23-8 in the third quarter for a home win.

Nick Sebahar tallied 11 points and 12 rebounds for Bonneville (3-4). Zac Combe added 14 points, Davis Degroot chipped in 13 points and Jackson Call scored 10.

BEAR RIVER 62, MORGAN 49

MORGAN — Bear River outscored Morgan 18-9 in the second quarter to take a 31-19 halftime lead on the way to a road win.

Gehrig Marble led Bear River (8-1) with 17 points and six rebounds. Kyver Jensen added 15 points, seven assists and four steals. Owen Olson scored 10 points and Jace Roberts hauled in nine boards.

Bracken Saunders scored a game-high 20 points for Morgan (2-7). Kolton Asay added 18 points with four 3-pointers.

Morgan head coach Scott Hunt coached at Bear River from 2013 to 2019, amassing 100 wins and 49 losses with the Bears.

DAVIS 76, MOREAU CATHOLIC-CA 36

HAYWARD, Calif. — Davis used a 20-7 second quarter and a 20-5 final frame to get a big win at Moreau Catholic (California).

Zac Fisher had 22 points and six rebounds for Davis (4-3). Easton Ralphs and Coleman Atwater each added 13 points and six boards, with Atwater splashing three 3-pointers.

HOLLADAY — Fremont trailed 36-15 at the half in a loss at Olympus.

Hunter Hansen led Fremont (6-3) with 14 points and two 3-pointers. Easton Duft added nine points.

WENDOVER 66, ST. JOSEPH 58

WENDOVER — Gavin Wolf scored 18 points with two 3-pointers but St. Joseph fell at Wendover.

Gavin Donovan added 14 points for St. Joseph (2-4) and Gunner Windsor scored 11 points with two treys.
