Box Elder and Davis High’s boys and girls swimming teams won their respective region swimming championships Saturday at the South Davis Recreation Center in Bountiful.

The Bees’ girls team won the Region 5 title with 507 points, nearly double that of second-place Woods Cross (307), while the boys team totaled 497 points and beat Woods Cross’ 440 points in second.

The Box Elder girls won three events and had two additional second-place finishers and three third-place finishers. On the boys side, the Bees won two of the 11 events but had three second-place finishes and five third-place finishes.

In Region 1, the Davis girls edged Weber for first place 422-393, while the Davis boys clinched the region title over Syracuse 349-342 after the Darts’ 400-yard freestyle relay team beat Syracuse’s 400 relay team in the final event of the meet.

Area winners and team scores from both the Region 1 and Region 5 swim meets are below. The 6A and 5A state swim meets are scheduled for Feb. 17-18 at BYU.
