Prep basketball roundup: Bountiful girls top Northridge in first-place tilt

LAYTON — Bountiful High girls basketball outscored Northridge 6-0 in overtime to win a first-place battle in Region 5, claiming a 52-46 road victory Thursday night.

Taylor Harvey led Bountiful (14-1, 5-0 Region 5) with 16 points. Jordyn Harvey and Milika Satuala scored nine each.

Madison Hosino led all scorers with 22 points for Northridge (10-6, 4-1). The Knights shot 15 of 20 at the foul line and outscored Bountiful 17-13 in the fourth quarter to get the game to overtime.

LAYTON CHRISTIAN 79, OGDEN 39

LAYTON — Ruzgar Boyle scored 38 points, making seven 3-pointers, to lead Layton Christian to a region win over Ogden.

Mariana Cubero added 14 points and two 3-pointers for Layton Christian (10-7, 3-3 Region 13) and Marcella Leite tallied eight points.

Ashley Christensen led Ogden (9-9, 2-4) with 20 points and four 3-pointers. Ellie Oliverson scored nine points, shooting 7 of 8 from the charity stripe.

WOODS CROSS 47, BONNEVILLE 38

WOODS CROSS — Woods Cross held Bonneville to 14 points across the second and third quarters in a region win.

Georgia Hatton led all scorers with 20 points for Woods Cross (11-5, 2-3 Region 5). Brielle Gefrom added eight points and Katie King scored five.

Libby Jensen led Bonneville (4-11, 0-5) with 12 points and Hailee Cherry scored 11.

LAYTON CHRISTIAN 80, STIVERS-OH 30

DAYTON, Ohio — Layton Christian ran away from Dayton, Ohio’s Stivers School for the Arts, leading 55-20 at the half, in a big road win.

Tyrese Lacey led all scorers with 19 points and three 3-pointers for Layton Christian (14-7). Tyrin Jones scored 17 points and Timmie Olubisi added 13.

BEAR RIVER 54, GREEN CANYON 41

NORTH LOGAN — Bear River led 24-12 at the half in a region win at Green Canyon.

Kyver Jensen led Bear River (11-6, 2-3 Region 11) with 13 points. Bridger Barfuss tallied 11 points and Gehrig Marble scored 10.
