ROOSEVELT — Jace Rodriguez netted a hat trick in the first half as Ogden High boys soccer won 5-1 on Thursday at Union.

Parley Gladwell added a goal and an assist for Ogden (6-2, 3-1 Region 13). Gerardo Esquivel also scored. Harry Hoskins had two assists and Taylor Pierce one.

MORGAN 5, BEN LOMOND 1

OGDEN — Jett Beckstrom tallied two goals and an assist as Morgan stayed perfect in region play with a win at Ben Lomond.

Nathan Haws netted a brace for Morgan (8-1, 5-0 Region 13). Beau Johnson added a goal and two assists. Sam Sugden assisted one goal.

Fernando Marquez converted a penalty kick in the 68th minute for Ben Lomond (1-6, 1-3).

ST. JOSEPH 2, KEARNS 0

OGDEN — Matheus De Assiz Vieira kept a clean sheet and St. Joseph led 1-0 at the half in a win over Kearns.

Brock Smith and Gabriel Malics each netted for St. Joseph (4-3).

SYRACUSE — Syracuse swept Weber to open region play. Set scores were 25-22, 25-14, 25-18.

Chase Barrett paced Syracuse (6-6, 1-0 Region 1) with 10 kills. Caleb Roskelley had 25 digs and served four aces. Breggan Prince, Joshua Godfrey and Gabe Meredith each had two blocks. Branson Hamblin tallied 15 digs.

Weber (7-6, 0-1) did not report stats.

ROY 3, BONNEVILLE 0

ROY — Roy swept Bonneville 26-24, 25-21, 25-20.

Dahlen Pontius led Roy (1-11, 1-4 Region 5) with 10 kills and 13 digs. Finn Nakasone and Will Colburn each dished out 12 assists. Braxton Harrison had six blocks.

BRIGHAM CITY — Box Elder downed Clearfield in four sets: 26-24, 25-23, 24-26, 25-13.

Brant Blacker paced Box Elder (5-4, 3-2 Region 5) with 16 kills. Carter Buchanan added 13 kills. Orion Fifield tallied seven blocks.

OGDEN — Ogden fell at home to North Sanpete 25-21, 22-25, 25-21, 25-17.

Adam Ballard tallied 12 kills, two blocks, nine digs and one ace for Ogden (6-6). Aiden Holbrook added nine kills, two blocks, four digs and three aces. Keen Crowther had eight kills, one block and 13 digs.
