Prep lacrosse playoffs: Bear River girls get top 4A seed; Fremont girls No. 2 in 5A

Four-time defending girls lacrosse state champion Bear River will enter the 4A playoffs undefeated and as the No. 1 seed, according to high school state tournament brackets the UHSAA released Saturday.

The 18-0 Bears pick up a first-round bye and will host either Snow Canyon or Mountain Crest in the second round on Thursday, May 14.

In 5A, the Fremont girls (15-2) earned the No. 2 overall seed. The Silverwolves, who won the 2024 state title, will bye to the second round and host West Field or Springville on Thursday.

Below is a schedule listing of Northern Utah squads in each lacrosse playoff bracket. Full information can be found online at uhsaa.org.

GIRLS LACROSSE PLAYOFFS

The first and second rounds are scheduled for May 12 and 14 at home sites, with expected times at 4 p.m. The quarterfinals are Saturday, May 16, with expected start times of 1 p.m.

The girls semifinals are scheduled for Tuesday, May 19, at Westminster University in Salt Lake City. The championship finals are Thursday, May 21, at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman.

6A FIRST ROUND (May 12): No. 17 Layton at No. 16 Westlake

6A SECOND ROUND (May 14): No. 11 Lehi at No. 6 Syracuse, No. 10 Weber at No. 7 Davis

5A FIRST ROUND (May 12): No. 23 Roy at No. 10 Bonneville, No. 19 Maple Mountain at No. 14 Northridge, No. 18 Springville at No. 15 West Field, No. 17 Box Elder at No. 16 Woods Cross

5A SECOND ROUND (May 14): West Field/Springville at No. 2 Fremont, Roy/Bonneville at No. 7 Clearfield

4A SECOND ROUND (May 14): Snow Canyon/Mountain Crest at No. 1 Bear River

BOYS LACROSSE PLAYOFFS

The first and second rounds of the boys brackets are scheduled for May 12 and 14 at home sites, with expected times at 4 p.m. The quarterfinals are Saturday, May 16, with expected start times of 1 p.m.

The boys semifinals are scheduled for Wednesday, May 20, at Westminster University in Salt Lake City. The championship finals are Saturday, May 23, at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman.

6A FIRST ROUND (May 12): No. 17 Layton at No. 16 Cedar Valley
