Prep lacrosse playoffs: Fremont, Bear River girls advance to semifinals

Makenzi Overdiek scored four goals for Fremont (17-2). Clara McCormick found the net three times. Brylee Jeppesen scored twice and Avery Jenkins tallied three assists.
Clearfield (13-7) did not report stats.
The Silverwolves advance to the 5A semifinals against No. 6 Olympus (11-8) at 4 p.m. Tuesdsay, May 19, at Westminster University.
BEAR RIVER 21, RIDGELINE 2
GARLAND — No. 1 Bear River’s quest for five straight girls lacrosse state championships continued Saturday with a big victory over No. 9 Ridgeline (9-10).
Jeanine Webb racked up five goals and five assists for Bear River (20-0). Mollie Call and Brooklyn Briel each netted six times.
The Bears move to the 4A semifinals, where they’ll face No. 5 Timpanogos (12-5) at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 19, at Westminster University.

GARLAND — No. 3 Bear River outlasted No. 6 Timpanogos (10-8) to punch a trip to the 4A semifinals.
Preston Wilkinson totaled four goals and two assists for Bear River (17-2). Waylon Loveland scored three goals and Ty Hess had two. Linkoln White had one goal and five assists.
The Bears face off with No. 2 Waterford (11-3) at 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, at Westminster University.

Morgan’s Blake Hadley reached the 3A state championship match in 3rd Singles, where he lost to Rowland Hall’s Evan Owens 6-3, 6-2 on Saturday at Liberty Park.
Hadley won six of seven sets on his way to the final match, surviving a 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 marathon over Grantsville’s Wallace Mouritsen.
1st Singles: Ogden’s Ethan Christensen fell 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 to an American Heritage player in the semifinals.
1st Doubles: Ogden’s Gavin Holliday and Samuel Ondrus lost 7-6, 4-6, 6-2 to a Rowland Hall squad in the semifinals.
2nd Singles: Morgan’s Matt Hill reached the semifinals, falling 6-4, 6-0 to a Rowland Hall player.
