LAYTON — Movie patrons will soon have another option for their pre- or post-show meal.?Wing Nutz, a Utah-based restaurant that offers wings, of course, along with a selection of salads, wraps and quesadillas, is building a new location in Layton. ?The franchise has 10 Utah locations, including one at The Junction in Ogden.? This will be the first one in Davis County and the largest location to date.?”We’ve been looking there for two years, and we’re really excited to finally get one in Layton,” said Will Miller, president of Paradise On Wings Franchise Group.?Wing Nutz, which opened its first location in 2008 in South Jordan, will be located in the building just west of the AMC Lowes theaters. That building is already home to Costa Vida and NYPD Pizza, and city officials feel the new restaurant will fit right in.?
“People are going to have more opportunities to eat before they go see a movie at either Lowes or the Cinemark 17,” said Layton economic specialist Ben Hart. ?The grand opening is scheduled for May 9. Miller pointed out that locating near theaters helps business.?
Hart mentioned that, with Brick Oven and Iggy’s also close to the theaters, along with Layton Hills Mall just across the street, the area is thriving. ?Miller said Wing Nutz has succeeded in building new locations because the restaurant “has the best wings there are, and they’re healthy.”?Miller said that the wings are all baked, and nothing in the restaurants are deep-fried, cooked with grease or in fat. ?”It comes down to great food, a fun atmosphere and a healthy meal,” Miller said.
