Prep roundup: Ogden High baseball, boys soccer claim victories
OGDEN — Ogden High baseball jumped to an 8-0 lead after one inning in a 16-5 win Tuesday over North Summit.
Will Minkevitch batted 2 for 3 with a double for Ogden (3-4). Carter Rasmussen and Diego DeLeon each went 2 for 5 with three RBIs each. Truman VanOrden and Luke Bushell each drove in two with a single. Minkevitch earned the win with one hit and three strikeouts over three innings.
FREMONT 10, COPPER HILLS 4
PLAIN CITY — Fremont scored nine runs across the first three innings in a home win over Copper Hills.
Brigg Grange batted 3 for 4 with a home run, a double and three RBIs for Fremont (2-0). Garet Jones went 4 for 4 and drove in two. Anthony Marziale doubled and drove in two. Hayden Hudman earned the win with five hits and eight strikeouts over five innings.
CLEARFIELD 5, WEST JORDAN 4
CLEARFIELD — Clearfield plated three runs in the fourth to take the lead for good in a win Monday over West Jordan.
Catcher Jake Ross batted 2 for 3 and drove in two for Clearfield (2-2) and threw out four runners in attempted steals. Colt Chambers had two hits and Hudson Meyer drove in two. Peyton Kotter tossed a complete game with three hits and two strikeouts.
RIDGELINE 10, BOX ELDER 6
BRIGHAM CITY — Box Elder gave up eight runs across the first two innings Monday.
Damon Rodriguez batted 2 for 5 with a home run and four RBIs for Box Elder (3-3). Camden Lish went 3 for 4 with a double. Ashton Burton and Maddox Earnest each had two hits.
GREEN CANYON 11, ROY 9
ROY — Roy scored eight runs in the first inning but couldn’t hold the lead in a home loss Monday.
Cameron Baty hit a bases-clearing double for Roy (0-1). Jack Sorensen, James Cochran and Connor Robinson each drove in one.

ROY — Davis racked up 16 hits in a five-inning win at Roy.
Jewell Korth batted 2 for 4 with two home runs and six RBIs for Davis (6-1). Jada Chilton, Adelyn Turpin, Sydney Marrelli and Hadlee Isaacs each had multiple hits, including a double apiece. Rayleigh Starnes went 3 for 3 and drove in two. Cambell Christensen pitched a complete game with six hits and six strikeouts.
Kylee Weitzel went 2 for 2 with a home run and two RBIs for Roy (0-4). Aviee Gomez batted 2 for 3 with a double and drove in one.

HEBER CITY — Baylee Andreason and Mylee Pederson each hit a home run as Bonneville crushed Wasatch on Monday.
Pederson added a double and drove in six for Bonneville (2-0). Andreason singled and drove in three. Morgan Rich went 2 for 4 with two doubles and three RBIs. Chandlyr Noble hit 2 for 5 with a double and two RBIS, and pitched a complete game with five hits and four strikeouts,

PLAIN CITY — Jessica Broadbent and Audrey Cooper each had two hits as Fremont was bested at home by Ridgeline Monday.
Kenadee Dabb hit a double for Fremont (0-1). Savannah Palmatier and Broadbent each drove in two.
MORGAN 19, PAYSON 8
PAYSON — Morgan banged out 21 hits in a big win Monday at Payson.
Kaiya Peterson batted 3 for 5 with a home run and six RBIs for Morgan (1-0). Callie Averett batted 2 for 4 with a solo home run. Lexi Hardman went 4 for 4 and drove in one. Josei Kelly batted 3 for 4 with a double and three RBIs. Averett earned the win with seven hits and one strikeout over 3 innings.

WEST VALLEY CITY — The Morgan (1-0) at Hunter contest was delayed by rain in the top of the first inning. At the time of stoppage, Morgan led 7-0 with no outs and runners on first and second bases. The game will be rescheduled for a later date and will resume at that point.

PARK CITY — Carter Archuleta netted the game-winner in the 79th minute as Weber won Monday at Park City.
Rhett Hogge scored in the eighth minute on an Archuleta assist to give Weber (1-0) an early lead. Garret Graves converted a penalty kick in the 15th minute and the Warriors led 2-0 at the half. Park City equalized in the 78th minute, setting up Archuleta’s heroics.

SYRACUSE — Syracuse scored twice after halftime to turn a 1-0 deficit into a win over Lone Peak in a rematch of last year’s state championship game Monday.
Syracuse (2-0) trailed 1-0 at the half, then Boston Cheney netted the equalizer. Easton Cragun scored the game-winner.
UTAH MILITARY 7, TELOS 2
OREM — Utah Military scored five goals after halftime to break a 2-2 tie and claim a region win at Telos.
Ian Patino netted a brace and had one assist for Utah Military (1-2, 1-0 Region 16). Teegan Scharp had a goal and an assist. Christopher Trejo, Kasen Byram and Pedro Flores each netted once.
