Diane Smith Willie

1942 – 2022

Diane returned to her loving Heavenly Father surrounded by her family on September 20, 2022. She was born to Wallace E and Alice Harper Smith on October 17, 1942, in Spanish Fork, Utah. Diane married the love of her life, Glen Ray Willie on March 15, 1969. They were later sealed in the Ogden, Utah Temple. They celebrated 53 years of marriage and raised 6 children.

Diane was an artist and a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in callings throughout her life including several service missions. Her greatest passion was her family. Diane attended all their sporting and school activities, and she carried on this tradition with her grandchildren. She also raised her Down Syndrome son Brandon and dedicated her life to advocating for services for this special needs population.

Diane is preceded in death by her parents Wallace and Alice Smith, her sister Jil Shumway, and her brother Scott Smith. Diane is survived by her husband Glen Willie, her children Brooke Dominguez, Dana (Lyle) Anderson, Justin (Jennifer) Willie, Courtney (Danny) Hammon, Brandon Willie, Joshua (Kristy) Willie. She leaves a legacy of 16 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the ICU Unit at the McKay Dee Hospital for their loving care.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at 11:00 am at the LDS Plain City Stake Center, 4575 W 2125 N, Plain City, Utah. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday, September 27th from 6:00–8:00 pm and on Wednesday, September 28th from 9:30­–10:30 am at the Plain City Stake Center. Interment, Plain City Cemetery
