SOUTH OGDEN — Two people were killed and another was injured during a shooting Friday night in South Ogden.
Officers were dispatched at 7:58 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, to the shooting at a home in the 3600 block of Ogden Avenue, South Ogden Police Chief Darin Parke said. Two gunshot victims were dead when police arrived, and a third was transported to a nearby hospital.
Parke was unable to confirm what condition the third victim was in Friday night. He was also unable to provide more information about the victims’ relationship to one another or their identities.
Additional information about the victims’ injuries was also unavailable.
When officers arrived at the home, no one was inside besides the victims, Parke said. The incident is being treated as an apparent homicide, Parke said, and no suspects were in custody as of about 10 p.m. Friday.
“We are still trying to identify what’s taken place and who’s responsible,” Parke said.
Police locked down a block near the home and conducted a yard-to-yard search Friday night, Parke said. He said police will likely keep the area secure and blocked off into Saturday as they continue their investigation.
Though the area’s residents weren’t asked to stay inside their homes Friday night, Parke asked people in the area to stay away from the crime scene.
