SALT LAKE CITY -- A Salt Lake City massage parlor owner accused of coercing a 17-year-old girl and her mother into prostitution is set to stand trial.
A Utah judge ruled Wednesday there was enough evidence for 29-year-old Luis Daniel Arano-Hernandez to stand trial for charges involving human trafficking, prostitution and identity theft.
Arano-Hernandez and four other suspects were arrested in November following an eight month sex trafficking investigation by the Utah Attorney General's Office.
The teen testified during a pretrial hearing that Arano-Hernandez told her not to call police after she was raped by a customer at his business. She also says Arano-Hernandez threatened to hurt and have her deported if she did not prostitute herself.
The attorney general's office says the four other people have been sentenced and will testify against Arano-Hernandez.
