OGDEN — A woman’s frozen body was found outside a church in downtown Ogden on New Year’s morning.

Authorities were called at 10:10 a.m. to First Baptist Church of Ogden, 2519 Jefferson Ave. Ogden Police Lt. Tyler Hanson said there were no indications of foul play but he had no other information.

“We’re really early into this,” he said.

Later Tuesday morning, police officers and crime scene investigators remained outside the church, waiting for the medical examiner’s office to retrieve the body.

The body lay on a walkway alongside the church’s west wall, about five feet outside a side door that bears a large red cross. About 40 feet to the north are 25th Street and a bus stop.

According to the National Weather Service, the temperature fell to 10 degrees overnight in Ogden.
