The University of Utah will induct two former Ute athletes and a pair of former coaches into the Crimson Club Hall of Fame on April 23 at Energy Solutions Arena.

McBride is still coaching after all

Ron McBride will hit the sidelines one last time, coaching in the Casino Del Sol College All-Star Football Game, set for Monday in Tucson, Ariz.

Mac will be on the West sidelines with coaches Pat Hill and Dick Tomey, also recently out of work.

Jazz fans make nine-mile trek to see opener

Twenty five Olympus High School students, all die-hard Jazz fans, planned to trek nine miles from their school to EnergySolutions Arena on Friday, and attend Utah's home opener against Philadelphia.

The group met with players and coaches for pregame autographs.

Hopefully, the millionaire Jazz players will work as hard as some of their young fans.

Reilly puts money where his mouth is, gives Jimmer his due

Wildcat women lose in overtime to Cowgirls

OGDEN -- The energy flowed freely around the Dee Events Center all Thursday afternoon.

Weber State's women's basketball team hosted more than 2,000 area elementary schools students for their annual Field Trip Day game.

And the Wildcats played off the enthusiasm from the youngsters, leading for nearly 40 minutes of their nonconference battle with Wyoming.

South Weber remembers 13-year-old with some 3-on-3 hoops

It's the kind of a tournament a 13-year-old boy would enjoy.

South Weber Recreation is sponsoring the Jayden Rathbone Memorial 3-on-3 basketball tourney on Dec. 21 and 28 at the community recreation center.

Former BYU lineman, Archibald makes grandmas proud

A week ago, I mentioned a couple of football players with Utah ties who figured to play key roles in the Grey Cup, the Super Bowl of the Canadian Football League.

I intended to list former BYU lineman Ben Archibald, but his name never made it into the list of B.C. Lions players.

Badgers ready to play in Top of the Mountain Bowl

Snow College will make its eighth appearance in the Top of the Mountain Bowl, set for noon on Dec. 3 at Rio Tinto Stadium.

The No. 16-ranked Badgers (8-3) will meet NJCAA rival Eastern Arizona CC (8-3). Earlier in the season, the No. 17-ranked Gila Monsters beat Snow 41-14.

WSU club soccer team wins national title

OGDEN -- The Weber State men's soccer club captured the NCCS National Soccer Championship late Saturday at the NCCS tournament in Phoenix.

The Wildcats -- a perennial club soccer power -- won their second title in three season with a 4-3 penalty kicks win over Missouri in the title game.

WSU also won the club national title in 2002.

To make the PGA Tour these days, a few superstars jump right in. A few graduate from the Nationwide Tour. The rest battle through Q-School, a laborious three stage process that tests nerves and skill.

RMR track nabs another top award

Rocky Mountain Raceways always puts on a good show for the fans, but the drivers love the track as well.

RMR's quarter-mile IHRA drag strip received top honors from the Summit SuperSeries with the top performing track award for 2011.
