OGDEN -- A new $5.5 million professional center at the Ogden Clinic is now open for business.
The Harrison Professional Center South at 4700 Harrison Blvd. includes five medical specialties and is equipped with the latest technology, said Ogden Clinic Chief Operating Officer Kevin Porter.
"We wanted to bring together our orthopedic specialists under one roof, along with combining our urology department in one centralized location," Porter said.
In addition, hand and plastic surgery, podiatry and physical therapy are located in the new 26,000-square-foot facility, Porter said.
Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Jeffrey T. Sorensen said the addition to the new building will be a great benefit to patient care by providing a more efficient office.
"We have more exam rooms and state-of-the-art digital radiology equipment, which will allow us to see more patients and to see them in a more efficient manner," Sorensen said. "We provide comprehensive orthopedic care including joint replacement, sports medicine, arthroscopy, hand surgery and orthopedic trauma. One entire team ... will be together in the same location to provide comprehensive treatment options for musculoskeletal injuries."
Dr. Kevin Walker, a podiatrist, said the addition will allow him to work closely with orthopedics and physical therapy providers in the same location.
"I will provide the same service, just with immediate access with other specialties," Walker said. "The clinic is state- of- the- art in medicine."
An official ribbon cutting and tours were held last Friday night. The facility will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday. The new facility will be staffed with 70 employees, Porter said. It was paid for by the Ogden Clinic Investment Company.
Ogden Clinic treats approximately 21,000 patients per month, Porter said. The clinic is a physician-owned, multispecialty group practice offering urgent and after-hour care. The clinic also offers 18 medical specialties and serves patients in seven locations.
"The new facility is another example of our dedication and continued pledge to provide top-quality care," said Ogden Clinic CEO Paul Schofield. "The multi-specialty center allows patients access to multiple specialists at a given time for perfected, collaborative care."
