Man dies when hit by car in Ogden

OGDEN — Ogden police are investigating the death of a 50-year-old man who was hit by a car while crossing Wall Avenue at 26th Street late Monday.

Lt. Will Cragun said the victim, whose name was not released, was apparently crossing Wall Avenue at 7:47 p.m., “from the east and going to the west and he’s struck by a southbound vehicle in the right lane.”

He said the car was a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by a 22-year-old man who stayed at the scene of the accident.

Cragun said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel. His name was not released Polie said the man may have been living at the nearby St. Anne's Center homeless shelter.

No charges had been determined late Monday.
