Volunteers

United Way of Northern Utah and Weber Human Services would like to spotlight House of Hope.

House of Hope, formerly known as the Utah Alcoholism Foundation, began in 1946 and is the oldest provider of substance abuse services in Utah. It is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to providing a full range of holistic alcoholism and chemical dependency treatment services in Salt Lake City, Provo and Ogden.

Serenity House in Ogden provides safe and confidential residential and outpatient services for adult men and women with drug and alcohol dependence with or without mental health or other co-occurring problems.

Serenity has a range of needs for volunteers. Yard and house maintenance are continual, as is office work such as filing, answering phones, copying, etc. A volunteer is needed in outreach to assist in literature drops, mailings and events. Also, teachers for an education class to teach a relevant skill to the clients. They accept donations in gently used furniture, computers, clothing, personal hygiene items, vehicles, yard equipment, exercise equipment and kitchen materials.

There's more than one way to support House of Hope. When you give your time, talent or financial resources, you're providing hope to individuals and families suffering from substance abuse along the Wasatch Front.
