EDEN — A young boy in Weber County was very lucky after quite a scare at a local ski resort.

First responders say an 8-year-old boy walked away with only cuts and bruises after he fell roughly 33 feet off a ski lift Friday afternoon at the Nordic Valley Ski Resort in Eden.

Paramedics with the Weber Fire District were called to the resort around 2:30 p.m., according to WFD Captain John Wood. As a precaution, first responders paged out a medical helicopter to be standing by in case they were needed.

Fortunately, the helicopter was not needed, and medics found that the boy only suffered cuts and bruises due to the fall, Wood said.

As a precaution the child’s parents were told by paramedics to take the boy to the hospital to be checked out, even though he did not appear to have any serious injuries, according to Wood.
