Fire growing in Weber Canyon Saturday afternoon
A fire has shut down traffic in both directions on I-84 and burned an estimated 30 acres in Weber Canyon. Around 1 p.m. on Saturday, fire crews received a report of a vegetation fire near the mouth of Weber Canyon near Uintah. Utah Fire Info's X page reports that the fire — nicknamed the Broad Fire — was around 30 acres and that air assets have been ordered to the scene to complement ground resources already on the scene. The post also notes that the fire's origin remains under investigation. No additional information is available at this time.
