OGDEN — Police have released additional information regarding a murder-suicide in March that left two Ogden residents dead.

A preliminary investigation has lead police to believe that 62-year-old Maria Villalobos shot and killed her daughter, 30-year-old Bianca, before turning the gun on herself, according to Ogden Police Lt. Brian Eynon.

Around 2 a.m. on March 19, police were dispatched to a home in the 1600 block of 27th Street in Ogden for a welfare check and found the two women dead.

Family friends told the Standard-Examiner that they became concerned about the Villalobos’ well being when Bianca did not show up for work, which was out of the ordinary.

Concerned friends went to the Villalobos’ home to investigate and found all the doors were locked. Police were then called in for the welfare check and later found the two in their home.

Eynon previously told the Standard-Examiner that there is no evidence to suggest the deaths of both were caused by anything other than a murder-suicide.
