Mildred Marie Fowler LaFeber of Ogden will celebrate her 90th birthday. She was honored at a family party on Saturday, Jan. 7.
She was born Jan. 9, 1922, in Ogden to John E. Fowler and Margret Ann Gray. She attended Ogden schools and graduated from Ogden High School. She worked at the old Thomas Dee Memorial Hospital. During World War II, she worked at the arsenal.
There she met Arthur B. LaFeber, who had recently returned from the Philippines. They were married on Oct. 5, 1945, in Salt Lake City.
Her talent for playing the piano and organ led to many opportunities for service in the church, including being a ward organist, playing piano in Primary, Relief Society and on special occasions. She most enjoyed playing for the special needs branch of the Church.
Her hobbies include reading, ceramics, and going to lunch with her friends and family.
Her children and spouses are Arthur B. LaFeber Jr., Rosalyn and Craig Farnsworth, Rebecca and Jim Cottrell, Richard and Jill LaFeber, and Roger LaFeber.
She has 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
