OGDEN — Matthew David Stewart ordered bound over for trial on all charges by 2nd District Judge Noel Hyde.

Hyde set arraignment for Nov. 7.

In closing arguments, Deputy Weber County Attorney Chris Shaw said, “This was an ambush. That’s what it was, an ambush.

“He took every opportunity in these confined spaces to cut those officers down unmercifully,” Shaw said.

Hyde’s order came after a 2 1/2-day preliminary hearing.

Stewart faces nine felony charges, including capital homicide for the shooting death of police officer Jared Francom.

The shootings occurred Jan. 4 as officers from the Weber Morgan Narcotics Strike Force served a search warrant on Stewart’s house.
