OGDEN — Ogden school board member Jeff Harris has announced his resignation, effective April 1. At the board meeting held Wednesday, Harris said he and his family are moving outside of the district.

“Working with the board has been awesome,” he said, noting that it’s been five and a half years since he won his seat by four votes.

Members of the community may apply for the position Harris is vacating in precinct 6. Applications are due by 5 p.m. March 28.

Changes were also announced for Highland Junior High School, where Shannon Wilcox will be taking the helm as the new principal, and Halie Vaughn will be vice principal. Wilcox has been serving as vice principal of the school, but will now be co-principal with current principal Ed Morris through June, after which Morris will move to another job within the district.
